Summary: A short fic exploring how InuYasha feels when he doesn’t get the respect he deserves.
InuYasha sighed, after yet another sitting with those blasted beads. He tapped his claws, waiting until the spell wore off and pondered his circumstances.
It seemed like he couldn’t win for losing. It all started with Kikyo. All he wanted was to avenge her death and tell her he forgave her for pinning him to the Goshinboku so long ago, for then he wouldn’t have met Kagome. The wench just had to make his life difficult, what with always getting in scrapes, letting that mangy wolf pant after her or running home for some of those ‘tests’ she always harped on. She didn’t need to go home all THAT often, unless it was to bring more ramen, for he couldn’t protect Kagome on her side of the well as well as he could here. Kagome made the bother worth it though, what with her smile, scent and those holy arrows. Sesshomaru just had to be a royal pain, what with the popping up at the most inconvenient time. And finally, the cause of this latest ‘sit’, Shippo! Gods, that brat was annoying. When would he finally learn who was boss?
He thought about the band of misfits that had formed up: a hanyou, a miko, a Buddhist priest (with wandering hands), a demon-slayer and two youkai all united for one purpose: to defeat Naraku and protect the Shikon jewel.
Two warm hands snuck up to his ears and derailed his meandering thoughts.
“I’m sorry, InuYasha.” Kagome said, leaning in close to his right ear, having approached the hanyou from downwind.
“Keh, what for, Kagome?” InuYasha rolled over onto his back, resting his head in Kagome’s lap, too tired to care about what the others thought about him cuddling up to Kagome.
“Shippo confessed that he started the whole thing and Miroku told me that you were definitely provoked this time.”
“The kit needs to learn that he can’t be depending on you to get him out the messes he gets into. I wouldn’t kill him, but some other youkai might.”
“Yes, you’re right, InuYasha, but he still seems so little.”
“Keh.” InuYasha started feeling very relaxed as Kagome’s fingers continued their ministrations on his ears, and inside he was very pleased to finally get some recognition that he was right.
“Ready to go?” Kagome asked, interrupting a particularly pleasant daydream of where he took her on a nice picnic with lots of ramen and nobody to interrupt them especially a bratty kitsune or most especially an evil Naraku.
“Yeah.” InuYasha rose gracefully to his feet and held out his hand to help Kagome up, and they joined their friends to continue their quest to defeat Naraku.

Okay apparently Evan Zelig (from Sueric’s series Purity) has a DeviantART account. Blew my mind.
I’m sorry, but really, an account, written seemingly in character for an OC in a fanfic (which is good, btw) seems to be a bit much?
(Yes I’ve read the msscribe story on LJ, why do you ask? And lordy, google her name and LOTS (9960 or so) of links including a story chapter dedicated to her on Schnoogle!)

Snark Snark Snarkity Snark
I’ve been reading The Arctic Circle and lordy I think I’ve had an epiphany. I’ve read some doozies of fics-Mary Sue, major character bashing, really BAD lemons (sex scenes), atrocious grammar and spelling plus threatening not to update unless they get reviews.
Good Lord people! I see they don’t teach basic writing techniques at school, not to mention praising them for doing basic things like dressing themselves.
Apparently there has been some dissension in the ranks of the InuYasha fandom over various things like reviews, stalking, etc.. People GET OVER your damn selves. Its just a bloody story y’all.
I love the show. I spend money on it and I really enjoy it, BUT seriously, now, some of the people who profess to love the show/books really need a reality check. You’re ruining it for the rest of us with your hissy fits and ego-stroking. Same goes for all the other fandoms, especially Harry Potter.

Seriously
I was trolling through my blogroll bookmarks and got stuck on Fan Wank. Good stuff. Snark and icons totally made my day. Not to mention some interesting pictures and something new to read. I was snorting over how some people get all excited when their choices and likes get even vaguely impugned. I like the thread where they are discussing the slashy implications of Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy 7 and Vagrant Story. *Gets a devious idea, rubs hands together wickedly*

I DESPISE being Sick
My ears after 3 weeks of feeling like I had a gallon or so of water inside decided to start draining. Now I sound like a frog almost like Jaken even. All nice and hoarse with a lovely barky cough and a nasty taste in my mouth. I tore through my romance novels (they were the closest ones available) and now am bored. Read Chapter 51 of The Phoenix Blade: Time Lapse and I am in AWE. Kagome doesn't take shit from nobody! Sessy poo was a bit of an arse expecting Kagome to be ready on his demands in ANY time.

Move Finished
Aside from getting some small things from my dad's house and moving our furniture into storage, our move is finished. It seems harder to unpack since I like the feeling of not having a lot of stuff out. I have the computer set up in a kitchen nook and it is serving as my office. I have my papers in reach and I'll be working on them in the next week or so.
Found an AWESOME fic-called The Phoenix Blade: Time Lapse by Fenikkusuken. I really like her characterization of Kagome as this kickass warrior who is more than capable of managing InuYasha and any demon or person who gets between her and her loved ones. Not to mention she is a lot more mature in this fic, being 20 instead of 15. InuYasha seems to know what he wants which is rather refreshing. Its a monster of a fic-50 chapters and almost 350,000 words so far, but well worth the time.
I've opened up a DeviantART account and I'll be posting some of my photos and drawings when I get them scanned.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children
was awesome! <fangirl wiggle> DH picked it up Tuesday morning after he got off of work and we stayed up till almost 4am watching it. I really wish they would remake FF7 with the graphics that they used in AC. Cloud was so much cuter and the fight with Sephiroth was awesome. Another thing that was cool: After Tifa's fight with Loz in Aerith's church, the victory song played. I thought that it was a nice touch. I do wish that the rest of the team had bigger roles to play in the movie since they were all so kickass in the game. I was in awe with the music and the graphics and so real everything looked. I think I'll finally finish the game just to figure out the rest of the story, even though Square did a completely different plotline.
