Mild Perturbance

I was trying to fix some ill-written links so pictures actually show up and my sidebar keeps getting reset to its default look. Quite irritating. I see they are doing maintenance tonight so perhaps it will be fixed soon.

Pondering a Switch

I've been thinking about switching to this blog from my Blogger blog. I like being able to categorize my posts for easy reference and it looks like they haven't had as many issues as Blogger does. I do wonder how easy it would be to add images to my sidebar, like my badges and stickers.

Test and Note

Testing out the blog via email

I've been rather busy the last couple of weeks. Started back to reading fanfic again plus playing Start Ocean Till The End of Time (I have a serious crush on Albel Nox) and planning out a story/book plus having some ideas for some fanfic of my own. I also got the Fruits Basket series boxset and watched it twice already. I really love Fruits Basket and perhaps they make another season taking into consideration the latest information from the manga.
The voices kill me though, especially Ayame's English voice-so fruity yet posh at the same time, and Kyo's English voice made me roll on the floor the first time I heard him speak.
I think the Abbey will most likely undergo a bit of a change of focus to anime, fanfic, writing, sci-fi, fantasy and gaming with a bit of GTD and organization and a bit of politics for flavor, rather than trying to be a politics blog with just a bit of what I like. I don't have the time to constantly be on the lookout for the shenanigans of those in power and I'm tired of always being upset and outraged. It is bad for my health, so I may just do a bit of commenting on various things that draw my interest instead of concentrating on the topic.

The Oddest Thing

I've been a bit puzzled lately with the v. odd behavior of my blog in FF 1.5. I've had two posts not show up properly in the main page but they show up in the archives and mix up comments etc. Very peculiar. I changed templates, updated any scripts, even disabled adblock. Showed up perfectly in IE but was odd in Firefox. So I tried a fresh profile in FireFox and voila-the issue was fixed. I'm keeping it fresh by installing extensions rather than copying the backups.

The Terrible Twos

The Abbey is now in the throes of the terrible twos (or at least will be sometime this month-I forgot exactly what day I started the blog) so perhaps there shall be some interesting things going on.

A Mini Post

I got a golden ticket for a wordpress.com account and I'm trying it out. I'm thinking about moving over here once they have the Blogger import tool back up and perhaps I can figure out how to empty my blogroll.

Some Fiddling

I was reading A Consuming Experience and found her post about combining Blogger Comments and Haloscan trackback. So I decided to try it out along with turning on backlinks and also per Consuming Experience again, adding links to some of the major blog search engines for each post. I've also added links to Del.icio.us and Furl.

Appalachia Alumni Association: SKB, R.I.P. Archives

V. sad that somebody would have a hissy fit over comments and now ther is one less blogger in Tennessee. I've always enjoyed Metro Pulse and just started reading SKB last year. I remember vaguely that there was a news story about him and Mr. Reynolds of Instapundit a few years back on Channel 10 in Knoxville.

Tis a shame, I say and SKB shall be missed.

Out damned s*am!

Yeccchhhhh, somebody s*pammed my trackback pings with all sorts of mortgage offers and credit card offers. Reported as spam, then deleted. I should have done bans as well but they probably used zombie machines or IP masking.
