I see Alito kissed up to enough Senators to get his nomination approved. Looks like America (the ones who aren't sucking up to the Republicans) is screwed. A Justice who thinks that the President should have the RIGHT to suspend civil liberties in an effort to remake America in Bush's image. I reject that idea and I am pissed that women get the short stick as well.

I bought the Backstreet Boys' latest CD- Never Gone and had completely forgotten Jive/Zoomba was owned by Sony BMG. Well I popped the CD in to copy to iTunes so I could listen to it without tying up a CD player and it installed MediaMax (tiny print on the case and it said it "enhanced" Windows. I had fun cleaning it up and once it was gone, I could copy noncorrupted files. Sheesh. I only pay for my music and want to listen on the computer which is the ONLY place I can listen to music as I don't have a CD player in my cars. I definitely don't like companies telling ME, the freaking customer (for without a customer, they are out of business) what I can and can not do with stuff I buy legally. GRRR.

Just doing a bit of a blogroll cleanup and tidying.

I saw that on the news last night and I about blew up. I have a 5 year old daughter and if some bastard did that to my baby, I would cheerfully castrate his ass. Sixty YEARS ain't nearly enough, let alone sixty days and some therapy. That poor child, who now has to contend with the thought she might run into her rapist again. The family, who has been traumatized enough, now has to suffer again because some dumbass of a judge who thinks that punishment doesn't work and that retribution isn't suitable in a court. Life in prison should be the MANDATORY sentence for ANYBODY who rapes a child or woman or murders somebody.

I've been a bit puzzled lately with the v. odd behavior of my blog in FF 1.5. I've had two posts not show up properly in the main page but they show up in the archives and mix up comments etc. Very peculiar. I changed templates, updated any scripts, even disabled adblock. Showed up perfectly in IE but was odd in Firefox. So I tried a fresh profile in FireFox and voila-the issue was fixed. I'm keeping it fresh by installing extensions rather than copying the backups.

The Abbey is now in the throes of the terrible twos (or at least will be sometime this month-I forgot exactly what day I started the blog) so perhaps there shall be some interesting things going on.

Why is it that if one doesn't want to get a degree in something you have a 'career' in, you are being lazy? I'm heading back to school this fall to finish my Bachelor's and I'm thinking about majoring in Philosophy/Asian Studies(Japanese) or Classical Civilization. I told my husband and he was why not do something you can have a career in?
I have a career already, I'm a mommy. The degree is the point of me going back, and if I take a couple of computer certification classes, I can have a nice job anyways.
